Wow, mid-August, and you know what that means .... back to skool! The young kits around the Village has been happily organizin their new crayons, pensils, and notepads into their shiny new bakpaks, and bein dragged around town by their pawrents or fostererers tryin on brite new outfits fur the new skool year. The Village will be quieter, espeshully wif some hooman pawrents also goin back to skool, but neber fear, lotsa fun is comin up fur the end of summer!
It’s been a kinda quiet week around here, but there’s two new bruthers fur famblies, anuther kit went on the lam, some is on bacashun, and biznesses is refurmulatin and gettin reddy to reopen. The photo contest was a rousin success, and there’s been some roomers of a Labor Day weekend Ribberboat Cruize .... make sure you read this week’s Mews to catch up on all that’s mew!

LOCAL MEWS

= Whee Go In and Out =

With her sisfur Smudge still in The Out, Mocha Purr saw an oppurrtoonaty resently to join her. Some young whees in the nayborhood smelled the good chow in the porch, and ripped up the screens tryin to get in to eat. Mocha, on the other paw, wanted to go find her sisfur and went to The Out thru the screen. It wasn’t too long afore she got hungry too, howeber, and when it was feedin time in the porch, Mocha couldn’t resist and slipped back in. Trapped by her mom again, she is repurrtedly still in a snit, but no doubt will recober soon. Now fur Smudge to come back in ...
Meanwhile, ober at the StLouieKits’ house, yardcat Wilbur is takin anuther turn inside the house. Some wild whees in the area has been scarin Wilbur lately, and eben tho he is fritened in the house too, he knows he is safe there. He is bein a good boy so fur, and not pesterin any of the LouieKits.

= New Bruthers =

Altho Sammy Whee been hearin some rumblin about his mom gettin a new playmate fur Tonks the kitty, and he wasn’t happy at all about it, he was finkin more about anuther kitty fur Tonks. But, surprise, surprise .... Wheesdad bringed home a new bruther fur Sammy, Tonks, and the others all rite, but it weren’t no kittycat. It was a puppy! Wheesdad got the pup from a frend who wasn’t able to keep it, and while no one there is real happy about the new bouncy introoder yet, they will all no doubt work it all out soon.

= Moth-Eaten Punk Kitty =

Graci Snowta, who resently had the mysterious loss of much of her fur, has gleefully announced that she is growin her fur back finely. Altho it’s furry patchy, and growin back in all kindsa shades of black and white, she is happy that she won’t be bald and chilly fur winter. = Anuther Bizness Reddy to Reopen =

Chlo-whee and Graci Snowta has been bizzy developin new resipees in antisipashun of Wooo-Naeng Lee’s Asian Cuisine reopening soon. New dishes, along wif old favorites, are in the works, along wif a newly desined menu.
Ober at Ye Olde Tyme Candy Shoppe, Remi Snowta and his eber growin staff has also been testing and tastin new resipees. Candycook Paloma Abycat whipped up a buncha samples of her new candy resipees, and at the taste testing in chat the other day, all were a rousin success.

= Wild Ones =

A mama and babywhee has been hangin around The Treehouse lately, and they has shown the hoomans there that they isn’t too afrayd to come to the door fur a snakky. Sammy Whee is happy to oblije, and helps to hand out the treets.


THE MEOWDICAL REPURRT

= Munchkin Catnip =
Munchkin went back fur a vetdokter checkup, and altho her kittney numbers was a lil betterer, her red number went down some. She gettin more bitamins in her water torchur, and still waitin on the results of anuther test.

= Beau Wiscat =
Beau also had a vetdokter bisit, and altho he hasn’t gained a ton of wate back, he did gain a little. He’s now eatin up and and feelin better, so his mom was furry happy wif that mews.

= Bear and Katie Connecticat =
Bear and Katie bofe had senior checkups this week, and all went well. Bear was tested fur die-beatees, but he was okay; Katie had her thigh-royd medisin adjusted.


THE FOSTER CONNEKSHUN

= Wiscatsin =
There’s a new foster kitty fambly in Wiscatsin, all wif furry yummy names! Momkit Salsa and her kittens Taco, Burrito, Enchilada, and Fajita are all doin well.

= Lawn Guyland =
A 5-week-old wild kitty captured at an abandoned house is now ‘home’ bein fostered by the Catnip Crew. Bambi is a furry cute calico kitten, and no doubt will find a grate fureber home in a few weeks.

= Indiancatpolis =
The foster kittens at the Purr house is all doin well too. One of them is meowed fur by a nice fambly fur a fureber home soon, and we all has a feelin that Amelia Purr may have a fureber home too ... ;)

= Mew York =
Several kittens played spades and were tootered successfully this week, and concatulashuns were sent to them. Soon, they may find fureber homes.



HOOMAN BEANS

= WheesMom =
WheesMom and Aunty Dani Noblekit found out the scary mews that Wheesmom’s yukky spot on her back was not B9. Wheesmom is gonna need sturjery to find out iffen the not-B9 stuff stayed put or went elsewhere. She saw one sturjeon alreddy, but he wasn’t the one to see furst, so now she gonna go again to the rite one next week. The Village is constantly illuminated wif all the GLOW that Villagers has been sending her way.

= Aunty Sue Connecticat =
Aunty Sue sure has had a bad run of luck this past week! She falled not only once, but twice, and got hurted ... and then got hurted some more! A fall in the garden made her paw owie, and a fall ober a toy the next day made her ribbies hurt a lot. One of the kitties jumpin on her ribbies the next day really hurt, so a trip to the hoomanvet was in order. No serious damaje, but some medisin is helpin her heal up on her own. Kitties have purromised to not jump on her fur now.

= Aunty Julie Zilly =
Aunty Julie had a tummyache fur several days, and finely desided to go to the hooman ER horsepiddle the other nite. Fankfully nuffin serious was wrong, so some medisin made her feel betterer ... but tryin to go to skool the same day later did not. She restin, and will see anuther hoomanvet iffen it keep up, but mebbe it’s just stress.

= SnowtaPapa =
Papa is doing okeydoke, and has been moved to a long-term rehab kinda horsepiddle. He will get breethin, movin, talkin, and finkin therapy there. He is happy to see Dad wheneber he bisits and is able to communicate thru movements sometimes. Dad eben dragged Unkle Lloydie wif to bisit the other day (don’t fall ober now), and Papa was furry happy to see bofe ‘his boyz.’

Well it been anuffur quiet week, gesh wit summer windin down in a wot uf pwaces, effery gettin tired. AZT Meowsers awr off on a jaunt to da beech wit der pawrents, der lasht wepurt meowed dey was gettin fog...Anuffur noo wesident has joined da Village, a bigg MCV welcom to JayJay Midasknine...young JayJay was kwikly dopted by Ash Meowzers and Oreo Pepsicola Idyhokit...picshurs uf da noo wesident can be sheen on da Meeting Hawl Board...Paloma Abycat twied owt sum new candywesipees on da kits at meowchat da uffur nite, dey was met wiff enthusiasm by effery....dat bout it fur dis week...

Is there a safe way for humans and cat to bathe a cat? Especially if an adult cat has never been bathed before?

Dear Kit:
Yeah right -- like dats gonna happen! I not efun gonna dignyfy dis column wiff da old goggie choke about stuffink da cat in da toilet -- not gonna happen! What usually happen to me is I get thrown inna crate, carted off to da groomer, where I gets baffed, dried, fluffed, (dey efun put a bow in my furz ob all fings!) and den Mommy comes and rescues me frum dat ebil place! I does know she calls around and finds one who willink to baff me and haff eggsperience baffink cats. I luff my Mommy, she neffer baffs me - she jus rescues me!
A Meowchatter told us about a baffink machine -- dis were innerestink -- not sure how well it wood wurk tho. But you gets put in dis stwange crate, and it wash and dry you. Dis seem furry wierd and not likely to make me furry happy, I dunno bout you! If your mommy WEALLY detoimined to baff you, den I tink she should get a cat bag made fur cat baffs. Dis wood keep da claws frum reachink your Mommy. It dont do nuffin about da teeth tho. But I fink it mite wurk...

Mommy refuzes to baff me herself (too much furz) or Zade neither. She not that brafe -- it a good fing Zade gots short furz iz all I can say. Tare jus let mommy crawl inna baff tub wiff him, and he jus sit there and lets her baff him!!! He will do ANYFING fur chiggun!
So I wish you luck and I wishes your Mommy luck -- we not sure who needs it da mostest!!!

Hi Everyone,
This is Squashy, your Cat in the Carpet by the Bathroom Door, I have the results from this week's phthththhh contest to share with you. Russell Snowta won by a landslide. It is absolutely impossible to beat a persian in a contest like this. It aint so much their tongue that does it as it is their lack of face that makes the tongue come out so far and cover so much area. Russell is a hotty for sure.
In second place was our dearly loved Ms. Molli, who we all miss so much. That kit sure could wear a fine bowl of milk on her face. We are all sending you luffs Molli. I camed in third by one vote. Hey wait! I never voted!!! I declare that I have one more vote, as it is permissable to vote for oneself and I have now tied for second with Molli!!! ::::Gonzo comes up and smacks Squashy in the head and gives Molli his vote:::::: Well, I guess I am back to third place again...
Everyone please realize that everykit in the family does get a vote so iffin you say "Our family votes for Joe Shmoe" that is counted as 6 votes if you have 6 kits. You can all have your own choices though. Concats to all of the winners, including me, Squashy, Kit on the.... now it is Bed.
Next Week's photo contest theme is "Love" You interpret that however you want for your picture. Again, all pictures must be submitted by the end of meowchat on Wednesday night in the thread that I set up, and then all voting will go from Wednesday night to Friday night end of meowchat.
