Brrrr! The Village is gettin some stranje wether this past week or so. Ober there in the eastern secshun, they gettin lotsa blowies and rain from them hissycanes, while on the west side, some kits is gettin all shooked up or lost in the fogg. Down soufward, they broilin in the heat, and up here in the norf ... well, our boiler in the Clover Blossom Farmhouse been comin on! Brr! It’s good wether to snuggle on the couch wif Mom, but a lil too early fur the heat to be on!
The photo contest was a fun one this past week, and it’s grate so many kits is purrtisipatin, wether it be submittin fotos or votin. We’ve got a new tidbitt in the Mews startin this week, wif a free fortune cookie fur effurry (but you all get the same fortune, MOL). There’s a kit runnin fur purresident, some kits got a new home, and who is finkin of movin where? Find out all that’s goin on around the Village rite here in the Mews!

= Sissy Hissycanes =

Despite a lotta warnins about hissycanes causin lotsa trubble fur parts of the Village, so fur the hissycanes been doin a lotta meowing and not much hackin. The whole eastern area has had threts of bad wether, but repurrts from Villagers livin there tell us of just rain and some wind, nuffin major. The Village continues to send glow to those who mite be affected, and hope the next storm comin along is also full of baloney and not much else.

= New House =

Some lukky kits is movin into a new house real soon! Cosmos, Galaxy, and the rest of the Jaritenkit gang buyed a new house in Mew York, and helpin wif the packin up of the old one. They is all eggcited fur the fun eggsplorin to begin in the new home, and concats was wished to them by all Villagers.

= Purresidential Kit =

Tita shared some luvly pichurs of her dad’s resent bacashun in Hawaii, and it do indeed look like a pair o’ dice to all. Tita’s dad is seriously considering fulfillin a lifelong dreem by movin to Hawaii, and he is bizzy makin plans. Hawaii gots a long quarryteen on animals comin into the islands, so Unkle John is speshully concerned about Tita bein purroperly purrpared fur a mebbe shorter confinement. They won’t be leavin us tho ... Tita would really be a Hula Kit then, and will always be in the Village wif us. Smudge Purr is still on the loose outside, and is refusin to come back in on her own. Her mom almost catched her the other day, but a naybor kitty comed along and fritened her away. Hopefully soon she will want to come back in.
Wilbur, the StLouie yardcat, has been comin in and out still too. He’s gettin used to the house, and mebbe someday he will deside iffen he likes The In fur good.

= Walkin the Gog =

Sammy Whee isn’t too happy lately. While there been some spats wif the others and lil Norton pup, Tonks has desided she wants to be frends wif him and has been helpin take him fur walks around the house. Wheesmom walks Norton around on a leesh, on accounta he wanna play too ruff wif the bunnwabba, and Tonks helps wif the leesh. Sammy finks they should purrsent a united front against the woofy lil new guy.

= Goin Hi-Tek =

A coupla famblies in the Village resently got betterer ways to travel around the Village wif new innernet connekshuns. Bofe the New York fambly and the KitKat fambly are happy wif their new, fasterer and betterer ability to chat wif frends.

= Goin to the Opurra =

Iffen you don’t see Captain Video around the Village fur the next few weeks, don’t worry ... he and his pawrents is a-okeydoke. It’s opurra time again, and CV’s mom is too bizzy to turn on the computer fur him. No fair, we say ....

= Graci Snowta =
Graci went to the vetdokter this week on accounta she hadn’t been feelin good or eatin at all on her own. Her mom thot mebbe that plastik she swallowed was the purroblem, but after inside pichurs, they still dunno. Graci was a frakshus demonkit there, and the vet and tek didn’t even wanna handle her much, so her mom did most of the holdin. At any rate, no cap eber appeared, but Graci is feelin betterer and eatin up a storm this week, and trottin around again, so that’s what matters.

The Mexicanfood kittens is 4 weeks old alreddy, and gettin around more. ARF is havin a crafy sale purrty soon, and Wismom has been furry bizzy organizin and gettin fings reddy fur that.

Aunty Patti is gonna have her sturjery fur her back yukkyfing on September 16. That’s when the two sturjeons needed can get to togeffur, altho the Village concloods that they should drop effurryfing and take care of Aunty Patti rite away. She is gettin a lotta support to help her thru the waitin.

= Aunty Kathy Furlorida =
Aunty Kathy been havin severe hedakes and dizzyness, and the doctors is tryin to find some old test records to see what they say afore doin more tests. In the meanwhile, the Furlorida kits has been bizzy takin care of her.

I wuz doing fine having dis nice faux-sheepskin bed to myownself, it near da winnows and also next to da raddiator (fur wen da heat come up later dis year). I eben been calling it my love nest. But now my sisfur been claiming it and staying in it, and I not wanna deal wid her calico tude by bothering her and asking her to let me use it sometimes. What iz a poor tabby to do?

Is dere room fur another bed near da winnow and also next to da raddiator? And is dere a bed dat your sisfur like in da house? Cause I sees 2 solutions. One, make your human servant go buy you a new bed - she can't sleep in two beds at once! Either she will decide she want the new bed, or you will gets a brand new bed - either way it a win/win sitchuashun fur you. Ob course if you peed in your bed den she pwobably wouldnt want to sleep dere, but den neether would you, so I not think that a good idea at all.
Or da other solushion may or may not wurk. Does she haff a bed in da house she like (other than yours ob course)? If so, mebbe you should take dat one ober - see how she like dat! Mebbe it da locashun though and not the bed, so hopefully dere enuf room fur 2 beds there wiffout beink right on toppa each other. If it da locashun mebbe dere be room there to put a little stack ob shelfs wiff no back to dem wiff one bed on one shelf and one bed above it. -- kinda like bunk beds. Dat way you boff can get da winnow AND da radiator.
I hopes one ob dese ideas wurk! Zade gots some comments to make about dis sleepink arrangement too, but dis my column, not hers!

Hello, dis is Squashy, Your Cat on the Futon. There sure were a lot of entries in this week's contest, as well as a lot of votes! We are going to change the voting procedure slightly. Each household gets 3 votes, no matter how many kits you gots. You can vote for your three most favorites.
The winner from last week's peekaboo goes to da memory of KC and to our pal Nicky. They had da same number of votes. Both true hotties in their own right and true peekabooers. Second place goes to Gonzo. I shouldn't let him have it, but I gonna be nice to him and play fair and square. He do lick me and stuff. Giselle and Marvin tied for third. Lots of ties!!!
Anyhow, this week's contest shall be entitled "Ouch". This can have many interpretations. You can be a cat with a vegetarian lampshade on, you know what I mean, or a cat being smooshed by a sib, or a cat in a precarious position that doesn't look in the least bit comfortable to the viewing audience, or you can interpret the phrase any other way you want. I am quite flexible and I am not know to turn down a photo.
