Chad Brown to host kingsnake.com web radio show:
First guest is Slayer's Kerry King

Pro football player Chad Brown will make his internet broadcast debut as the host of kingsnake.com's long running web radio series for reptile hobbyists. The announcement was made in a broadcast in December when the then current web radio host, kingsnake.com founder Jeff Barringer, unexpectedly switched places during an interview with Brown on air, letting Brown interview him.

Chad Brown, a former all-pro linebacker for the Pittsburgh Steelers, Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots, is a long time reptile breeder and operates Pro Exotics, a reptile breeding business in Littleton, Colo. A long time member of the kingsnake.com community, Chad takes over the reins of a web radio program kingsnake.com founder Jeff Barringer started in 1999.

"Choosing Chad to be the new host was a natural," said Barringer. "He's one of our site's most popular chat guests, and consistently turns out a huge crowd at our annual Chat Month."

Barringer said that the only guest to consistently draw as well as Brown is Kerry King of the band Slayer. "Having Chad interview Kerry seems like it will be a great way to start off the new year, and something our users will enjoy."

Kerry King, guitarist and one of the founding members of the metal band Slayer, is also a long time reptile breeder and is often seen at reptile related events in Southern California when he's not touring. King is known for his blazing fast guitar licks as well as his carpet pythons, which he will be showing at his booth during this weekends Reptile Super Show in Pomona. He's been a two-time guest at the symposiums during Chat Month, but this will be his first guest appearance on kingsnake.com's web radio show.

Chad Brown's interview with Kerry King is scheduled to be go live on Jan 7th on kingsnake.com as a downloadable podcast as well as being released on Apple's iTunes as a free download. More info here.

Kingsnake.com and the IRCF Trade T-Shirts for Donations at this Weekend's Reptile Super Show

Kingsnake.com and the International Reptile Conservation Foundation (IRCF) are partnering for this weekend's Reptile Super Show at the LA County Fairgrounds to raise public awareness of the IRCF Blue Iguana Recovery Program and it's many other conservation efforts. The first 250 people to stop by each day at the Super Show's IRCF booth and donate a dollar ($1.00 or more) toward IRCF conservation programs will get a brand spanking new "My Snake Is Bigger Than Your Snake" T-Shirt from Kingsnake.com.

"Usually we give out T-Shirts for free, but this year we decided to do a mash up of sorts with the IRCF," said Kingsnake.com founder Jeff Barringer. "The IRCF is a great group doing good work. We hope to do more of this sort of thing in the future with the IRCF and other reptile conservation organizations as well."

"We are pleased to join with Kingsnake.com to help promote awareness of endangered reptile species and assist in their conservation through the many programs we support," said John Binns, CEO of the IRCF.

The Reptile Super Show will be held at the FairPlex/L.A. County Fairgorunds in Pomona California this weekend, January 3-4, 2009. Sponsored by Zoo Med, kingsnake.com, and Reptiles Magazine. The show is open to the public and will have over 300 tables of rare and unique animals for sale as well as supplies and caging. Don't miss this huge event. Admission for adults is $8.00 and $5.00 for children 12 and under. Children under 3 are free.
