If you're reading this, you probably own some kind of pet bird. And you may know there's a law currently being proposed to Congress that would seriously threaten your right to do that in the future, or even take your current birds to another state or allow them to breed -- even common pets owned by generations of American kids like hamsters and aquarium fish are under the gun, all in the name of protecting America from "invasive non-native species."
The bill, HR 669, will be heard in committee on Thursday, April 23 -- just two days from now!
Right now, this very minute, you need to take action. Go to:
http://www.stop669.org/
Read about the bill, what it would do, and who else is opposing it.
Then click on the link to send a message to the committe members who will be hearing the bill this week. Then use another link to let your own congressional represenative know that this bill is a mistake.
You can also sign up to follow our Facebook and Twitter feeds, where we'll be updating with information on the hearing and this proposed legislation every day.
